Schuberth C4            VS.           Shoei Neotec 2

Two Top-Of-Line Modular Helmets! Which is right for you?

Below is a comparison between the Shoei Neotec 2 and the Schuberth C4. Both modular helmets are excellent options providing premium safety and comfort, but without knowing the features of each, it is not easy to decide which is right for you. So lets begin…

SHELL & WEIGHT

Both the Neotec 2 and C4 are made from fiberglass; the C4 is 100% fiberglass and the Neotec 2 is a fiber glass mixture called Advanced Interfrated Matrix (AIM). The Shoei weighs slightly less than the Schuberth. However the Schuberth comes with the speaker and mic built in whereas the Neotec does not so once you add the SENA communication system to the Shoei, weight is just about the same.

SOUNDPROOFING

Schuberth helmets are known for their quiet aerodynamic design and the C4 conitnues this tradition. Both helmets are designed to prevent air flow through the lower area of the helmet. The Shoei is euipped with a Vortex Generator in the chin zone that not only prevents the entry of air but also reduces noise considerably. Plus, it has a double rear spoiler, wind tunnel tested, that minimizes turbulence at high speeds making it great for not only touring but also sport bike riders.

SCREEN

Both come with Pinlock anti-fog lense and anti-scratch treatment. Neither require special tools to remove the screen; both are easily removable. The Neotec 2 visor is not as high or wide as the C4 visor but the Neotec does have a carved edge that the C4 does not, allowing it to fit as tightly as possible agianst the helmet shell helping with soundproofing. One interesting side note is that the C4 does offer the possiblity of changing the sun visor depending on the type of light.

CHIN BAR OPENING SYSTEM & CLOSURE

The Shoei offers a 2-click system so that once the chin bar is lifted, it can be pushed back one more time for a second click providing a bit of a locking mechanism. Both incorporate a micrometric retention system making them very quick and easy to operate.

VENTILATION

While both helmets have a sophisticated ventilation system, the Neotec 2 offers an extractor in the rear that the C4 does not. Both have air inlets in the upper zone and chin zone.

INSIDE

Interior padding in both helmets is removable and washable. The Schuberth interior is anitbacterial and fast drying and has been optmized for those that wear glasses. The Shoei was built with padding in the area of the ears which reduces external noise.

WARRANTY

Both have 5 year warranties, however the Schuebrth you must register. Otherwise it is only a 2 year warranty.
